Alta, a rising fashion-technology startup, has raised $11 million in seed funding to accelerate the development of its AI-powered personal stylist assistant, designed to reinvent how people shop for clothes online.
What Alta Is Building
Founded by Jenny Wang (18), Alta aims to create the first truly personalized, AI-native fashion experience—combining:
- 3D avatar generation
- Generative clothing visualization
- Style recommendation engines
- Contextual prompts (e.g., “What should I wear to a garden wedding in Bali?”)

The Tech Stack
Alta’s backend uses:
- LLMs to infer preference from chat or upload history
- GANs and NeRFs to generate photorealistic virtual try-ons
- Pose estimation models for realistic movement and cloth simulation
- Retail APIs to fetch product metadata and live inventory
Why It Matters
Online shopping has a 50%+ return rate for fashion items, largely due to poor fit or styling mismatch.
Alta’s team says its AI can cut returns in half, improve cart conversion, and create a feedback loop between consumers and brands based on style behavior—not just purchase history.
“We’re not selling clothes—we’re training your AI stylist to know you better than you know yourself,” said Wang.
Final Thoughts

Alta’s AI stylist bot could reshape digital fashion the way Spotify reshaped music curation—one recommendation at a time.
